Elysa Gardner of USA Today took part in a chat with readers on Tuesday (May 31), and was asked about Mariah Carey’s strong comeback with ‘The Emancipation Of Mimi’. “I’m also really happy for Mariah,” Gardner told the fan. “People have been tough on her, and she’s been tough on herself. There are a couple of gospel-y songs towards the end that could do well. As for touring, I know she had been doing a lot before going into the studio, but we’ll see.” Later asked if she was surprised by the comeback, Gardner said, “Surprised, and pleased — she’s a hard worker, and a survivor. Good for her.” Check out the complete transcript here.
