Mariah Carey tells The Daytona Beach News-Journal she’ll be thinking about her father when she performs the national anthem at the Daytona 500 on February 16th. “I’m totally psyched about it,” she said during a conference-call interview Thursday. “My father used to race cars, and when I was called to do this I felt like it was perfect timing because my father passed away this past year. We had gotten into long conversations about the fact he raced cars and what it meant to him.”
