Mariah Carey Shines As Tour Opens In Miami

Michael Hamersly of the Miami Herald was on hand for The Adventures of Mimi tour kick-off at the American Airlines Arena Saturday night (August 5). Hamersly said Mariah Carey “showed a near sellout crowd that she and superstardom definitely still belong together.” He added, “Unlike her 2000 tour, which opened with a 10-minute video featuring Carey’s evil twin Bianca, who tries to hurt the ‘good Mariah’, her Mimi show emphasizes substance over inane skits.” Additionally, video from the show is available from YouTube.
