Rolling Stone writer Anthony DeCurtis spoke with Jon Casimir of the Sydney Morning Herald on the rise and fall of Mariah Carey, a trend that has begun to rise in the music world. DeCrutis said, “The music business has become the marketing business. It knows how to take a record that might in prior times have sold a million records and make it sell 10 million records. But by the end of that process it has exhausted everyone’s patience with that artist.
