Roger Friedman of FoxNews.com reported on the sad state of Tommy Mottola’s career since leaving Sony Music two years ago. With only Lindsay Lohan and Brie Larson featured on Casablanca Records’ website, with Marc Anthony and Usher both dropping him as their manager, and with his wife Thalia’s inability to become an American celebrity, it prompted Friedman to ask if Mottola was “officially retired from the music business.” And the simultaneous success of his ex-wife Mariah Carey in 2005 must really hurt. “It must be driving him crazy that Mariah’s having so much success,” a source said. “After all, in the past he tried to kill her albums.
