The Star reports Mariah Carey told organizers of the America: Tribute to Heroes event to “Count me in” as the singer was horrified by the tragedy in New York the day she was released from the UCLA Medical Center.
A source told the tabloid, “When she was told about the Sept. 21 telethon to honor the heroes and raise money for their families, there was no stopping her. It was her decision to go on. In fact, she insisted on it.”
