Mario Vazquez On Why He Left ‘Idol’

‘Extra’ spoke with Mario Vazquez to ask the singer what was the real reason for his leaving ‘American Idol’ last season. “The real reason,” Mario said, “Was I wanted to do it on my own terms; just take hold of my career.” Mario added that he kept quiet until now out of respect for ‘Idol’, and he only auditioned for a record deal after Carrie Underwood was crowned the winner. Vazquez’s debut album is out in June.
