Michael Jackson Apologized To Dad Before Documentary
February 12, 2003 – The Las Vegas Review Journal reports Michael called his father, Joe Jackson, who has a home in Las Vegas, to forewarn him and apologize in advance of ABC’s airing Thursday of the controversial documentary with Martin Bashir. “Michael’s upset and Joe’s upset,” according to a source. Before the interview opened old wounds, the source said the father-son relationship was “better than it’s ever been. They talk on a regular basis.”
Jermaine Jackson ‘The Big Story’ Interview
February 12, 2003 – Michael Jackson’s brother Jermaine was on ‘The Big Story With Rita Cosby’ over the weekend, where he defended his brother after the damaging Martin Bashir documentary aired. Asked what he thought of Bashir, Jermaine said, “I don’t want to comment on it, but he was just the worst. I thought for Barbara Walters, who has so much dignity and so much class, I felt that she even lost that night… to sort of voice your opinion is like almost that people can’t judge for themselves. Let them decide how they feel. Don’t sway them. Don’t say ‘It gets weird. It gets worse.’ I mean, that’s just not right.”

February 12, 2003 – Roger Friedman of FoxNews.com gave his thoughts on Fox News buying rights to air the Michael Jackson rebuttal to Martin Bashir’s recent documentary. As for ex-wife Debbie Rowe defending Jacko, Friedman said, “So I’d be interested in knowing more about Rowe’s mental state than Michael’s at this point. What kind of person is a baby-for-money factory? Maybe we should be looking into that.” He also says Jackson’s chances for landing a deal with a major label were pretty much shot after the special and the release of the Jordy Chandler sex abuse documents.
