McFly To Leave Record Label, Drop Boy Band Sound

The Sun hears that McFly are preparing to depart their record label Island after the release of their next album, hoping to score a deal similar to one Paul McCartney landed with Starbucks. The boys are currently recording the CD in Australia, the last required for their current record deal. “The boys feel they have outgrown the company,” a source told the British tabloid. “Label chiefs have plans for them they disagree with. They are tired of being a boy band. They want to be recognized for their songwriting and being more than just a teen act.
