The Sun hears that McFly are preparing to depart their record label Island after the release of their next album, hoping to score a deal similar to one Paul McCartney landed with Starbucks. The boys are currently recording the CD in Australia, the last required for their current record deal. “The boys feel they have outgrown the company,” a source told the British tabloid. “Label chiefs have plans for them they disagree with. They are tired of being a boy band. They want to be recognized for their songwriting and being more than just a teen act. The time in Australia has given them a chance to put together their battle plan. They are all really excited about the idea of being free to make their own decisions about their future.”
