Last night Phil Stacey, Sanjaya Malakar and Brandon Rogers were relegated to the bottom three on ‘American Idol’, with Rogers being the first of the top 12 finalists to get sent home. Craig Berman of MSNBC commented on the ‘Idol’ men finally being a minority on the FOX hit that has seen the women dominate this season. In wake of Stephanie Edwards and Haley Scarnato both forgetting lyrics but staying out of the bottom three, Berman writes, “Unfortunately for Rogers, the women weren’t the only ones with bad memories. He started off Tuesday’s show with a lyric botch, and that combined with another bland performance left him with too big of a hurdle to overcome. It marked an early end to a disappointing time on the show for the former backup vocalist, who was so good in the auditions but never found his rhythm after that.” Read more.
