During the premiere of the Michael Jackson documentary aired in the UK by television journalist Martin Bashir, the singer spent almost $6 million in Las Vegas on a single-day spree, a number that far surpassed Elton John’s $1.6 million splurge. “It was more like a multinational corporation buying furniture for all its worldwide premises,” Bashir said. “He is a disturbing individual whose financial power enables him to do what he wants.” The special airs in America on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET, on a special broadcast of ’20/20′ anchored by Barbara Walters.
