Even though Michael Jackson and some other black stars “seem like they hang around with white folks all the time, even though they distance themselves from us seemingly, at the end of the day, we still claim them,” Jamie Foster Brown of Sister 2 Sister magazine tells The Associated Press. “Because when black people get in trouble, white people tend to look at the whole race anyway.” Because of this, many in the black community have reacted as if a family member were in handcuffs following Jackson’s arrest on child molestation charges.

By saying this (stupid) comment, Jamie Foster Brown (whoever the hell she is) is looking at white people as a whole, so she’s no better than the people she’s speaking poorly about. What a shame, yet another ignorant person with the power to make a difference being just as racist as the racism she’s trying to fight. How typical.
Yeah I’m black and I feel sorry when black people get in trouble. But that doesn’t mean I feel sorry for Michael. A pedophile, whatever he is black or white, is a criminal, and he belongs in prison. If he’s really guilty (I think so) it’s not because he’s black that I’m gonna close my eyes on the wrong things he’s done. If he’s innocent, then, I feel sorry for him. I just remember that René Angelil, Celine Dion’s got in trouble with this kind of story but with a woman. Finally, they claimed his innocence and Celine outsold her album who was going out at the same period. Coincidence? I don’t think so. Maybe it’s just a ” coup de publicité” as we say in french.
