The New York Daily News reports Michael Jackson has taken steps to rehabilitate his image. “He’s got a brand-new team around him,” a source close to Jacko revealed. “We’re going to see a more acceptable and approachable Michael.”
Tito’s House Tour Much Cheaper Than Jacko’s
August 26, 2003 – Humorist Andy Borowitz was on CNN’s ‘American Morning’ with Soledad O’Brien and weighed in on the Michael Jackson news that he’s charging $5,000 a head to tour his Neverland Ranch. “Well, just a consumer note, Tito is offering his house for 50 bucks,” he joked. “I mean, that’s a better deal. But, you know, I thought, you know, $5,000 is very high, because he’s giving out, like, a free commemorative poster or something. Jacko Plans Neverland ‘Open House’ To Raise $1 Million
August 20, 2003 – Roger Friedman of FoxNews.com reports Michael Jackson has inviting 250 people to his famed Neverland Ranch in Los Olivos for an open house, though they have to pay $5,000 each for the privilege. Friedman figures Jacko is trying to shake out a buyer for the $20 million facility. The invite promises that $1,000 from each ticket will be given to a yet-unnamed charity, leaving $1 million to Jackson. Read more.
David Gest Won’t Write Tell All
August 17, 2003 – The London Express reported the that Liza Minelli’s ex David Gest is shopping a memoir in which he’ll dish about Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and his life with Liza. But Gest spokesman Richard Hoffman tells the New York Daily News: “There’s no truth to it. David personally spoke to Michael Jackson and told him it’s not true. He also sent word to Whitney.”
