Model Can’t Find Work After ‘Glitter’ Bombed

The New York Daily News talked with Padma Lakshmi, model, chef and girlfriend of novelist Salman Rushdie who hasn’t been able to find work after she made her debut playing a role in Mariah Carey’s ‘Glitter’. Lakshmi said, “My acting offers have dried up right across the board: movies, TV, even Off-Broadway.” She insisted though that the film didn’t bomb because of Mariah Carey, rather “because the movie was released just too close to the 9/11 atrocities, and the public wasn’t in the mood for a showbiz story.”
