Molly Meldrum’s first interview since his accident took place with Katy Perry recently. The American pop singer talked with the legendary Australian music critic about having five number one singles on her latest album ‘Teenage Dream’, always being at work, growing up in the church, smuggling music growing up because of her restrictive parents, how a gorgeous girl she grew up with in Santa Barbra inspired ‘I Kissed A Girl’, the sad ending of her marriage to Russell Brand and more.
On the split with Brand:
Well, you know, when something goes on in the relationship it’s between the two people, really, so it’s not anyone else’s business so I still have a lot to look forward to.
On living her dream:
My dream has always been the same – to be onstage and to hear thousands of people sing along with me. I took the best pieces from the tour of last year and put them into this film. And just, you know, hopefully, people can know my story and experience the tour and all the bits and feel like they are there.
