A fan on Christina Aguilera’s official site message board posted his response from Christina’s mother Shelly Kearns after he had ‘threatened’ to leave the forum if Christina didn’t release her album soon. Shelly explained, “September is not a confirmed release. Hopefully it will be out earlier than that. And thanks so much for your concern, but please be assured that she will not lose true fans just because it’s taking longer than some of the other pop stars out today. Again, in other areas of the industry, it isn’t an end of the world thing–isn’t even unusual–for an artist to take even much longer than Christina has taken in releasing a next album. I hope this helps you to feel calmer about the issue.” Later in the thread she expanded on her comments.
