The New York Daily News reports that the MTV Video Music Awards will return to New York City this year after a two-year hiatus in Miami. The homecoming will take place at Radio City Music Hall on August 31st. “It feels right in ’06 to come back to New York,” said David Sirulnick, who has produced MTV’s awards show since 1999. “This is our hometown. We love New York. We love the energy and the vibe of New York. And a lot of the creative elements that we want to bring to the show this year can really be done to great effect here.”
