Hannah Sung of MuchMusic commented on Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden’s critique of her question about Hilary Duff’s newly enlarged and whitened teeth. “So I asked about Hilary’s teeth. I’ll be honest – I felt weird,” Sung admitted. “But it didn’t come out of nowhere. Joel and I had already talked about his relationship with Hilary and how refreshing it is to be open and honest with the press that hounds. We’d also covered his love of internet gossip sites. With the conversation going in this direction, I really felt like talking about Hilary’s teeth wasn’t overly tacky. Just a little bit tacky. Like awards shows. Like doing commercials, or selling your music for them. Like promoting your latest movie. Like being on TV. People choose to do these things. Maybe they are making a compromise with themselves for the greater good of an ultimate goal of theirs. That’s fine. But all of it is tacky, it’s just about degrees.”
