Music Is Justin Timberlake’s Appeal

Tommy Wee of the Straits Times spoke with about how since his break-up to the then virginal Britney Spears, he has gone solo with racy lyrics like “I’ll have you nekkid by the end of this song” and “I wanna rock your body till the break of day”, from the single ‘Rock Your Body’, material not seen with *NSYNC. Timberlake insists he is not going through a sexual revolution to prove his coming of age. “I don’t think I talk about anything in my songs that a 22-year-old wouldn’t talk about, you know,” he says defensively. “It’s a more adult record. I’m just acting my age.” Part of his adult record has perhaps gained him a male audience, but Timberlake says of his gay fans, “I… I don’t know, I can’t honestly answer that question because I’m heterosexual. I think music is music and people love music. That’s my appeal.”
