Jay: That was great. Here, here’s a mic for you, right there. Hey, welcome
back.
Nat: Thank you.
Jay: Did I say it right this time, imbruglia?
Nat: You did, without the G. Excuse me while I put my microphone on.
Jay: That was a point o– somebody said, “there is a g,” I said “no.
There’s no g.” It is like natalie imbruglia. It’s italian.
Nat: You should know that. Silent g.
Jay: There you are. Let me ask you about this title, “white lilies islands,”
is that a real place?
Nat: That’s where I live, actually.
Jay: Where is that?
Nat: In windsor. It’s not tropical or anything. It’s on the river thames.
Jay: Okay. That’s pretty cool.
Nat: The white lilies islands, and a lot of the songs were written there.
Jay: Yeah.
Nat: Kind of cool.
Jay: You are australian, but live in england now?
Nat: Yes.
Jay: When you grew up in australia, what part of australia?
Nat: Just north of sydney, on the central coast.
Jay: Isn’t that a big surfing area?
Nat: I tried it when i was about 14. I was terrible. Really, really
bad. The only reason all the girls did it w b because we wanted to the
go in the surfing camp with the guys. We did our surf survival. I remember
i got hit in the back of the head with the surf board, so i gave up.
Jay: I’m glad you didn’t get hit with the guitar and you didn’t give
that up. That was beautiful. Terrific cd. Just great.
Nat: Thank you.
Jay: Natalie imbruglia, thank you very much
