NBC 5 Reports On Priscilla Ceballos’ Fabricated Contest Story

NBC 5 Dallas reporter Scott Gordon was in Garland to report on how Priscilla Ceballos had her 6-year-old daughter make up a tragic story about her father dying in Iraq for an essay contest to win prize package to see ‘Hannah Montana’ star Miley Cyrus in concert in New York. Neighbors told Gordon that the girl’s father, a carpet cleaner, was very much alive. Ceballos’ sister told Gordon, “A Christmas story, it was supposed to be told like a Christmas story. A good Christmas story, basically. And that’s what she wrote. A good Christmas story. She didn’t know it had to be true or anything.” Video at nbc5i.com has since been removed.
