Nelly Furtado Previews Her Euro 2004 Theme Song

Nelly Furtado spoke with Radio 1 about her theme song for Euro 2004 ‘Forca’ and gave listeners a preview. “I used to play a little bit when I was a kid and all my family and cousins that have grown up loving football and crying when their team loses so I understand the passionate side of it and the romance of the game,” the half Portuguese singer said. “When they asked me to do the football song, I went ‘Oh, how am I gonna do it without being corny?’” This year’s European Championships are being held in Portugal, prompting interest in having Furtado’s involvement.
