Metro caught up with Nelly Furtado in a Q&A and asked the singer what’s brought on this personality transformation that saw her go from ‘I’m Like A Bird’ to ‘Maneater’. “I haven’t changed, I’m just showcasing that side of myself more,” she responded. “When I first started, my musical goals were different. I was trying to prove I could do an international pop record with the first album, I wanted to prove myself as a lyricist on the second but, for this one, I was free to have fun and went for it. I guess I made the right decision. Somewhere between my daughter turning one and me staying in Miami in that sunny and sexy environment, I started to feel really Portuguese and became comfortable with my curves.” Read more.
