Bill Ellis of gomemphis.com was at Nelly Furtado’s concert at New Daisy Theatre March 23 and had glowing praise for the Canadian Grammy winner. Ellis said, “Mixing dance pop with Asian, Latin and African touches as well as a heavy dose of fado, the folk song of her Portuguese heritage, Furtado’s multilingual music was a culturally rhythmic playground, a Carnival of global insouciance.”
