Tony Hicks of the Contra Costa Times weighed in on the furious attention given to Michael Jackson following the King of Pop’s arrest on child molestation charges. Hicks said, “You wanted the attention, Michael, now you’re getting it. You’re about to become the clear exception to the idea of any press being good press. Jackson-watching on CNN will soon become the nation’s favorite spectator sport. We’ll forget the economy, the presidential race and the daily body counts from Iraq. It’s not right, but it’s Jackson’s fault.”
