New Mariah Concert Date Too Close To Maal Hijrah

Though Mariah Carey has moved up the date of her performance at Merdeka Stadium in Malaysia from February 22nd to February 20th, UMNO Youth is still not happy as the new date is too close to the Maal Hijrah celebrations. “We appreciate the organizers’ initiative to change the earlier date of the concert but the new date is still too close,” UMNO Youth Religious Affairs Secretariat chief Shamsul Najmi Shamsuddin said. He complained that Awal Muharram was a significant event in Islam, the proximity of the concert was a cause for concern.
