According to Billboard.com, 98 Degrees star Nick Lachey has signed a development/talent deal with ABC and Touchstone TV. The pact calls for Lachey to star in a comedy or drama pilot for the network and includes a feature film component with the Walt Disney Co. The deal, which could reach high-six figures, also covers the recently announced variety special Lachey and wife Jessica Simpson are doing for ABC. Lachey recently filmed a guest spot on ‘American Dreams,’ portraying a young Tom Jones, which is scheduled to air Feb. 15. Also, after a strong first season, ‘Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica,’ returned with a bang for a second season last week, posting its most-watched episode ever with an audience of 4.7 million viewers.
