According to MTV News, Jessica Simpson says Nick Lachey took her breath away when they first met. “I’ve been obsessed with ‘Take My Breath Away’ for a very long time,” Simpson said. “The first time Nick hugged me, I had to back up against the wall,” Simpson said. “It sounds corny, but it literally took the breath out of me. I would break out in hives, be all nervous, because he completely consumed every inch of me.” She told of how she once set the mood with what would become the couple’s special song. “We were in the car, it was pouring down rain, and I just went in for the kiss,” Simpson said. “And in the middle of it, I stopped the whole kiss, and put on ‘Take My Breath Away,’ because he was the guy who took my breath away.
