Elysa Gardner of USA Today has yet another article on ‘has Britney Spears peaked?’, a popular subject since she announced she was going to take six months off. “Acts like Britney Spears are concocted to appeal to the teenagers in their audience as idealized reflections of themselves, and that has nothing to do with music at all,” says media critic and author Mark Crispin Miller. “Britney is like a figure in an ad campaign pitched at young girls.
