Lucas Spokeswoman Chills *NSYNC Star Wars Gossip
January 3, 2002 – Bill Zwecker of the Chicago Sun Times spoke with George Lucas’ spokeswoman Lynne Hale who admits *NSYNC boys went before Lucas’ camera but the reports on the internet that they’ll be seen briefly as anonymous Jedi knights are just rumor. Hale said, “We don’t have any information on the scene.”
Conan Explains Star Wars *NSYNC Casting
January 3, 2002 – Conan O’Brien joked during his Wednesday night monologue, “According to The New York Post – and they’re never wrong. George Lucas is giving the band *NSYNC cameos in the upcoming ‘Star wars’ movie. Yeah, and apparently, there’s a reason for it. Apparently, Lucas cast *NSYNC because he wanted C-3PO to look less gay.”
*NSYNC To Appear In Star Wars Episode II
December 31, 2001 – The Sun reports all of the members of *NSYNC will appear in a battle scene in the latest Star Wars flick, Episode II: Attack Of The Clones. The group was able to appear due to producer George Lucas’ 13 year old daughter’s insistence at giving them a part in the film. A source told the Sun, “They are only seen for half a second in the background getting blown up by droids. There is then a short, blurry shot of *NSYNC dying.” Read more.
Pop Stars Get The Goodies At AMA’s
December 31, 2001 – The New York Daily News reports Britney Spears and each member of *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys will receive about $5,000 in free merchandise for their appearance at the American Music Awards on January 9. Included in the package will be an electric scooter (Segway?), a video-game system, a digital camera/camcorder, an environmental waterfall, a Fossil watch and an electronic body massager.
*NSYNC Caught In Unedited Christmas Greeting
December 28, 2001 – Not sure where this was originally posted, though it is a Christmas greeting intended for NSYNC.com (actually the path suggests it is on NSYNC.com – as Musicvision hosts the site). Included are the guys joking about any troops visiting their site, Justin saying “Oh sh**”, and the guys emphasizing “gay apparel” when singing ‘Deck the Halls’.
