Jacko Turns Personal Beef Into Potentially Explosive Ethnic Issue
Lloyd Williams of The Black World Today opined on the Michael Jackson comments made against Sony Music chief Tommy Mottola weeks ago. Williams called Jacko’s charges of racism by Mottola “a particularly nutty suggestion when it’s the lighter party who’s claiming to be black.” Williams added, “Nobody’s lily-white here. Sony is a Japanese company. Mariah Carey is half-black and half-white. Michael has a couple of bi-racial kids. Tommy Mottola is darker than Jackson, whose lifelong hobby was turning himself white. Talk about pathology. So, I’m not gullible enough to fall for the incendiary racial angle, even though the music industry has an ugly legacy of exploiting African-American musicians. Go ask Little Richard about that, not wacko Jacko.”

Ice-T Offers Advise To Michael Jackson
Rod Harmon of Knight Ridder Newspapers spoke with Ice-T and asked the rapper/actor about the woes of Michael Jackson and his battle against Sony Music amidst charges of racism. “Honestly, I think what happened with Michael Jackson is that he’s kept so much to himself to make himself an oddity, that it’s hard for people to grab hold of him the way we grabbed hold of him in our day,” he explained. “It’s really a message to all of us that if you’re in this business, and you’re not selling the numbers they want you to, they will drop you.” Ice suggested, “You gotta reproduce yourself; you gotta come again and get in the groove. Your name is not what sells records. Hot records sell records. I’m going to put out a record that’s so hot this year, people are going to say, ‘Oh, that’s Ice?!!’”

Robbie Williams Ends Fued With Dad
The Sun reports Robbie Williams has ended his 25 year fued with his father after Pete walked out on him and his mother Jan in 1976. Robbie phoned Pete from Los Angeles and told him, “I love you.” He now is flying his father from Staffordshire to America for some quality time together. Pete commented, “I don’t want to say anything until I know for sure but I have been asked.” A source revealed, “Robbie has always been angry with his dad for walking out on Jan and has struggled to forgive him. Pete’s been told not to bother packing any clothes because Rob’s going to buy them all for him. Considering they hardly spoke, it’s amazing to think they chat nearly every other day now.” Read more.

Christina Christian Calls LA Radio Station
Christina Christian was on Star 98.7 in Los Angeles a few hours ago. The latest contestant voted off ‘American Idol’ said she was fine but she’s still weak. She was at LAX when she phoned in, heading home to Florida. Christina said she feels exhausted, she has low blood sugar, she felt very sick and weak yesterday, they put her on I.V. Christina said she’ll be on next week’s show to give a proper goodbye.

Sum 41 guitarist Dave Baksh gave a run-down of several women on a 1 to 10 scale. On Britney Spears, he commented “Great ass,” but only gave her a 6. Kelly Osbourne rated an 8, while Mandy Moore (”Really gorgeous just too wholesome”) also rated an 8. On fellow Canadian Avril Lavigne, he said, “I am afraid to rate her because the authorities may come after me.” As for Shakira, he gave her a 6 and said, “I’m not impressed by her, but I like her caveman gear in that video.”

Florida’s Sun-Herald spoke with the parents of Britney Spears’ ‘Crossroads’ co-star Anson Mount, who praised the singer for her call to ill 8-year-old Emily Barone. “She was just delightful,” Nancy said after meeting Britney at the ‘Crossroads’ premiere, “a fine young lady. She’s a very caring person and does a lot of work with children. I was impressed by her. She didn’t hesitate when Anson asked her to call Emily.”

George Michael Blames Rupert Murdoch For Failure
Undercover.com.au reports George Michael has blamed the heavily conservative Rupert Murdoch controlled media in the negative reaction of his new single ‘Shoot The Dog’. “I’m probably the biggest celebrity to have sided (perhaps foolishly) with The Daily Mirror in recent years and I seem to be paying the price for it,” Michael said. “Not that I think it wasn’t worth it. This situation is more important than any record or any attack on me and I didn’t go into this with my eyes closed. I had a feeling I would get caught in the Sun / Mirror war zone but it never occurred to me that Murdoch’s other publications, specifically the NY Post would misrepresent myself or the reaction of the American people in general so enormously.”

When asked if he had any sweet stories about Britney Spears and her former *NSYNC boyfriend Justin Timberlake, Brandon revealed, “One really sweet thing I remember that Justin did for Brit was; Her and Justin hadn’t seen each other in a really long time. Brit was in her hotel room doing a costume fitting. Justin calls her up and the two of them talk, you know like love birds. “I miss you, when will I see you again?” etc. Then all of the sudden Brit gets a knock on her hotel room door. She opens it and there is Justin with the cell phone standing outside. And the two had a nice little reunion. It was sweet.”
