Britney Spears had been and is still being back-stabbed by her undying critics these past months. Its time to defend and protect her from all these unjust and unfair criticisms. First, the issue about the ‘disappointing album sales’ of her third album, is in fact, an exaggerated overhype. *NSYNC sold 12 million copies of ‘No Strings Attached’; but their follow-up only sold roughly 5 million. Same with Britney’s case – 9 million of ‘Oops!’ to 4.5 million of ‘Britney’; then why ain’t *NSYNC getting all these criticisms? Why all be directed to Britney? Not to mention the downhill trend in album sales since 2001. More important than just the numbers is the talent. Has there been anyone of those self-proclaimed musical analysts who has praised Britney for having been able to extend her musical spectrum – from just sugar-pop ‘Baby One More Time’ 4 years ago to the adult-oriented ‘I’m A Slave For You’ 3 years later. Has anyone of them realize that the girl has undeniable talent? Well, all they can say is that she is over! Well then, they better have some serious analysis – a more deeper one please!
Searches for Alanis Morissette last month on pay-per search engine overture.com had the Canadian singer get 46,419 queries. Searches for her lyrics were about 4x more than of the nude searches. Her most searched for song was ‘Ironic’ with 627 queries. The most common misspelling was Alanis Morissete with 610 searches.
Alanis Morissette wrote in Nylon magazine about the shock of not being constantly “paparazzied,” after the first flush of her fame wore off. She says, “I remember asking my therapist whether it was time to die, because – I thought, no photos equals death.”
Adam Bernard of Hip Hop & Soul Online spoke with Juelz Santana who admitted he is feelin Avril Lavigne’s music so much so that he claims, “She turned me into a skater boy for a minute!” Santana also says he’d like to work with Eminem.
Mariah Carey has responded to Sharon Osbourne’s claims at the American Music Awards that her chest was surgically enhanced, calling it “hilarious”. According to the Scottish Daily Record, she added, “I suppose it must have been the best boob job in the world if I didn’t even remember it.”
Launch.com reports *NSYNC star Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera will head out on tour together this summer if final negotiations go as planned. “They are in discussions, but nothing’s confirmed yet,” Timberlake’s Jive Records publicist said on Wednesday (January 15). Read more.
Avril Lavigne took part in an online chat with Top of the Pops, and got quite testy when asked about her skater history. Asked what ‘Sk8er Boi’ was about, Avril explained, “What inspired me to write it is what I went through in high school. About how different people treat each other. There’s that message that you should go with your instincts, follow your heart and you’ll be happy in the end.” As to whether she was treated differently in high school, she says, “I got treated differently by different people. I was a skater and there were preps who looked down on you because you wore baggy clothes. But it was OK. I hated high school.” And does she skate now? “I was a skater in high school.” Does Avril have skating tips for readers? “I said I was a skater in high school, that doesn’t mean I am one now.”

Does anyone Remember a Show on Vh1 called Rockology? A Psychic’s prediction has come true about Britney Spears. On Vh1′s Rockology a Psychic predicted that in “2003 Britney will date a lot but will end up with an older man about 7 or 9 years her major, he’ll be slightly bald, a bit of a potbelly, and is a business man. He’ll have a simple name like DOUG.” Well I was reading popdirt, and my jaw dropped to the floor when I saw that Britney may be dating Fred Durst! He was everything the psychic predicted and I thought that was so cool! They’ll repeat the show again on VH1. Check your local listings. They had a lot of predictions also saying that Eminem might start dating a midwestern girl groupie.
