Saturday Night Live’s Jimmy Fallon tells Us Weekly that to this point, he doesn’t have a date to the Video Music Awards. “Everybody keeps saying that I’m taking Britney Spears,” the VMA host says. “I’ll be so busy, I don’t even think I’ll have time to call my mother. But I wouldn’t mind being her date – maybe that’s my present for hosting?”

WorldofBritney.com has a clip of ‘American Idol’ judge Simon Cowell talking on Fox’s ‘The Pulse’ on Thursday (August 22). Simon said that he almost “stole” ‘Baby One More Time’ from Britney, right between when there were negotiations with TLC and they didn’t accept the song. He says he had a talk with Max Martin telling him how he was interested in the song, but Max told him he had already given it to someone else, Simon then asked “Who?”, and Max Martin told him “Britney Spears,” and Simon responded, “Well, who the hell is Britney Spears?” This response has freaked out WoB’s Ruben, who basically said “how dare you.”
