Westlife members Kian Egan and Mark Feehily spoke with Top of the Pops for their thoughts on the popular British answer to ‘Making the Band’ called ‘Pop Idol’. When asked if the series was accurate to portraying what it is really like to be a pop star, Mark said, “I think the judges are too harsh. I think they give a bad impression about the music industry. If I was 15-years of age sitting at home and I saw some of the harsh comments given out by those people I’d never want to be in this industry.”

Dotmusic.com reports a spokeswoman for the Brit Awards has confirmed the fight that took place at the ceremony Wednesday night. The spokeswoman explained, “Bryan McFadden got rather too drunk and tired and emotional. As So Solid Crew went past him, he started to throw water. They reacted by throwing a few punches that didn’t land. A few glasses and bottles were thrown but security stepped in. Unfortunately artists do tend to rather overindulge when they come to these events and have one too many.”
