Parents Have To Counter Britney Spears Effect

Syndicated columnist Froma Harrop weighed in on the ‘Britney Effect’ ahead of back-to-school clothes shopping. Harrop writes, “Critics have unfairly likened Britney’s dance routines to kiddie porn. Anyone who has seen pictures of Britney thrusting her semi-naked pelvis toward audiences in London can plainly see that she’s no beginner. For some reason, American parents give their daughters money to buy Britney CDs, dolls and other endorsed products. Hence, the parents now have the ‘Britney effect’ to counter.”
