Pats Fans Upset About Halftime Show
The Neponset Valley Daily News (Mass.) reports local New England Patriots fans were almost as shocked by Super Bowl XXXVIII’s halftime show as they were by the action on the field Sunday night. “My kids were watching and that was just so inappropriate,” Laurie Duplessie, a Franklin resident watching the game at Owen O’Leary’s in Southborough, said of *NSYNC’s Justin Timberlake pulling down Janet Jackson’s shirt during the show. Billy Bresnahan, watching the game at home in Framingham, shared her sentiments. “I was appalled,” he said. “There was nothing entertaining about it. One rapper grabbing his crotch, Justin Timberlake chasing Janet Jackson around the stage and pulling her top off….What are these people thinking? What are they going to do next year — porn stars? I have a 16-year-old daughter who loves the Patriots dearly. She’s watching (the game) with her grandfather. This isn’t family entertainment. This goes to other countries. What does this say about America?”
