April 7, 2004 – Paula Abdul shared her thoughts on last night’s ‘American Idol’, which featured the finalists singing hits from Elton John. As always, LaToya London scored with a soaring rendition of ‘Someone Saved My Life Tonight’ and Elton called Jennifer Hudson “his favorite performance out of the whole lot.” She blew the audience away with a soulful cover of ‘Circle of Life’. Ironically the two best performances of the night came from the pair, who were in the bottom three last week.

It’s because he’s a throwback to the old Rat Pack.”
