Kylie Minogue and her sister Dannii are responding to a story in the Daily Mail that says their mother Carol moved to Australian when she was 12 as a program her parents took advantage of that lured Brits Down Under with subsidised fares. Millie and Dennis Jones boarded the SS New Australia on April 20, 1955 with Carol and were among an estimated 710,000 Britons who were seeking a new life in Australia and took advantage of the £10 ticket. Kylie and Dannii weren’t happy with the photo accompanying the story, since it apparently wasn’t their mother. Kylie posted a real photo of her mother at Twitpic.
