USA Today Pop Candy column writer Whitney Matheson took part in an online chat with readers earlier today, and Ashlee Simpson’s halftime performance at the Orange Bowl was a big topic. “As I wrote in Hip Clicks, I didn’t see it — but I did hear her wailing from the next room,” Matheson said. “It will be interesting to see how Papa Simpson responds to this mishap. Acid reflux again? Or perhaps she was stricken with some other ailment?” She added, “One can only hope this is the last time we hear from Ashlee for awhile.
