The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports a profile of music customers for the recording industry finds rock was still the most popular genre in 2002, preferred by 24.7 percent of those surveyed. Rap/hip-hop overtook pop music as the second-most-preferred with 13.8 percent. R&B/urban came in third with 11.2 percent. Country music’s popularity also saw a surge, to 11.2 percent, while pop music posted an all-time low, with only 9 percent. Read more.
