‘Popworld’ Cancelled

Virgin Media reports that Channel 4 is pulling the plug on ‘Popworld’, with the last episode of the Saturday morning music show to air in July. “We’ve decided not to recommission ‘Popworld’,” Channel 4 said in a statement. “The series has performed very successfully, but we’re keen to use our T4 platform as a launch pad for new music formats that reflect the audience’s tastes and the way they consume music.” ‘Popworld’ had a six year run.
