Mariah Carey: I’m Still The Same Girl I Was Before Fame
Ricardo F. Lo of the Philippine Star caught up with Mariah Carey for a Q&A before her Manilla gig on November 16th. Asked if stardom changed the simple girl in her, Mariah responded, “I still look at myself as the same girl I was before I joined showbiz. I still remember being a little kid and saying to myself, ‘Don’t ever forget what it feels like to be a kid.’ You see, adults misunderstand kids so much sometimes and they forget what’s it like to be a kid. I also remember when I was struggling and I had only one pair of shoes.”
Later, asked to describe herself in three words, Mariah responded, “Workaholic. Insecure. Optimistic.”
Carey also discussed why she named her album ‘E=MC2’, described what her track ‘Emancipated’ was about, loving to interact with her fans, music being a form of therapy, this being a happy time for her and what her childhood in New York was like.
If I were to interview the Queen of Flops, I’ll just ask ONE question: 1. When do you think your name will ever appear again on the Billboard Charts?
The cow lost her shoe and when midnight struck Tommy Mottola found her shoe. Ever since, he has been screwing the whore. Don’t we just love fairy tales? But the ending was a bit unexpected. The whore turned xxx-dirty and she had to be dumped like a used condom. So, I guess there’s no happy ever after for this little girl :(
LOL @ haters… I hope some of you realize how RIDICULOUS your comments are. Oh, of course you don’t…limited intelligence.
And she would ask you where your name is on the Billboard Charts…
On 2nd thought, I don’t interview HAS-BEENS. they’re not worth it.
Hey Madfan, if Mariah were to answer your question about “where she is on the Billboard charts”, she would say: “Well, my remix album is currently #1 for the 3rd straight week on the Top Electronic Albums. My single “Bringin on the Heartbreak” is currently #5 on the Hot Dance/Club charts, and my duet with Busta Rhymes is STILL on top of the charts all around the country. We’re are you, or your girl Mandy, on the charts?”
“BYE BYE HATERS,MARIAH GETS PAPER. Y’ALL MOTHERF@CKERS CAN HATE HER LATER!” THAT’S WHAT I WOULD SAY TO ALL THE HATERS IF I WAS MARIAH. LMAO
YOU KNOW MARIAH IS A THUG AT HEART. I HAD TO PUT A LITTLE TELA IN THE MIX . LMAO
I have a question: why do you care about Mariah Carey? you must be one of those bored morons that sit and play with themselves while looking at a picture of a woman that wouldn’t want you if you were the last person on earth. that really makes you thing doesn’t it?
Check billboard her average was 78% not 100 across the board. And she is playing medium sized venues. I think last week Bruce Springsteen was on top of that chart doing almost 100% of Shea Stadium which is huge-100,000. And this week it’s Simon and Garfunkel on top-the capacity of their average venue is 40,000. Mariah’s largest venues pale to those of people that have been around for 30 years +. And Benny Medina was the one that was behind the extra venues, one of which is 3,000 seats, and NOT sold out as of yet. That is pathetic. And she got oodles of promotion for the Seattle thing.
Silly haters… “unknown interviewer interviews has-been. so fitting.” He is obviously more well-known than you are. Go listen to your Mariah albums…
