Rev. Jesse Jackson Discusses Michael Jackson Memorial

The Rev. Jesse Jackson has been advising Michael Jackson’s family since the pop singer’s death just over a week ago. He talked on Monday morning with the ‘Today’ show co-host Meredith Vieira about Tuesday’s memorial service and the family reaction to the five doctors apparently under investigation in connection to Michael’s death. Elizabeth Taylor Won’t Attend Memorial

July 7, 2009 – Elizabeth Taylor checked in with fans on her Twitter (@DameElizabeth) on Monday (June 6), explaining why she won’t be attending Tuesday’s memorial for her close friend Michael. The 77-year-old writes:

I’ve been asked to speak at the Staples Center. I cannot be part of the public whoopla.

And I cannot guarantee that I would be coherent to say a word.

I just don’t believe that Michael would want me to share my grief with millions of others. How I feel is between us. Not a public event.

I said I wouldn’t go to the Staples Center and I certainly don’t want to become a part of it. I love him too much.

My love goes out to Katherine and Michael’s beloved children.
