Phil Rosenthal of the Chicago Sun-Times wasn’t impressed with the geniuses at CBS who took the Britons originally heard on the BBC animated import ‘Robbie the Reindeer in Hooves of Fire’ and replaced most of them with Americans, including Britney Spears. He writes, “Spears for [Jane] Horrocks, meanwhile, is a bad trade, as Britney just doesn’t have the Brit’s acting chops. Jerry Stiller adds little to the role of Old Jingle and, no matter how Leah Remini strikes you on ‘King of Queens’ or when hawking motor oil, her Vixen is about as vixenish as a stalk of celery.”
