The Sun reports Robbie Williams’ jetted back to Britain to look after of his mother Jan, who went into a hospital for heart bypass surgery. The 67-year-old was said to be in a “critical but stable” condition Sunday night, a few hours after undergoing surgery. “Jan was put in intensive care immediately after the operation, where she’ll be monitored extremely closely,” a source told the British tabloid. “She will almost certainly spend Christmas Day in hospital, but if all goes well she might be discharged by New Year. December 15, 2008 – News of the World hears that Robbie Williams’ plans to perform a one off gig with his former Take That bandmates on their final tour gig at Wembley on July 5th is a strategic move to drum up interest in his next album. Robbie plans to drop a new single the next month and the ‘Rudebox’ follow-up in September. “He has rediscovered how to write earth shatteringly good pop anthems like ‘Angels’,” a source told Dan Wootton. “He knows this is his last chance to make it big again. Take That Are Keeping In Touch With Robbie
December 3, 2008 – Gary Barlow spoke with the Daily Record at the Paris launch of Take That’s new album ‘The Circus’, where he predicted Robbie Williams will rejoin the group “one day”, and hinted that the pair have ended their public feud. “The five of us were together a lot over the summer and it felt like we were back in the ’90s,” Barlow said. “I get an email every week from Rob, Mark [Owen] gets one every other week and [Jason Orange] phones him once a week. We’re all keeping in touch. It’s really fun getting to know him again, I must say. The five of us are rebuilding our friendship and that’s really the only place to start.” Read more.
