BBC News reports the narrative voice of Robbie Williams has been cut from a the BBC’s award-winning ‘Robbie the Reindeer’ cartoon because viewers in the United States would not like his accent, the makers have said. The voices of Britney Spears and Hugh Grant will also take the places of Jane Horrocks and Steve Coogan as Donner and Blitzen. “Because it’s an American version, they wanted American voices,” a spokeswoman for the BBC’s commercial arm, BBC Worldwide, said.
