The Daily Star reports Robbie Williams has offered £700,000 for the movie rights to The Village People’s biopic, provided he gets artisitic control of the project. Robbie told a friend, “The Village People were icons. They defined disco and their story is amazing. It will make a great movie.” An film industry source said: “Ever since Moulin Rouge and Chicago, every studio in Hollywood wants to do a musical. So Robbie wont have a hard time getting this movie financed. Studio executives are sold on the idea of a Village People movie.” Robbie wants to star in the film himself as the cowboy role made famous by Randy Jones, who sang on the hits ‘In The Navy’ and ‘YMCA’.
