Roisin Murphy spoke with the Irish Voice that the odd costumes she wears on stage, calling them essential because they say something about the song she’s singing, while freeing her up to take risks. “If I went on stage in jeans and a t-shirt that would be dishonest,” the Arklow, Ireland born pop singer explained. “Even when I was a little girl in Wicklow I had an exhibitionist streak, like the time I went into town and got my hair shaved into a marine cut.
