On ‘The View’ earlier today, Rosie O’Donnell went after ‘American Idol’ again – this time for not canning Antonella Barba over her racy pictures. Rosie said that because season two contestant Frenchie Davis got the boot for her pictures done for a “barely legal” type porn site, Antonella should get the axe too. “It’s weightist and wacist,” said Rosie.
‘Idol’ Exec Producer Defends Antonella Barba
March 2, 2007 – ‘American Idol’ Executive Producer Ken Warwick spoke with Laura Saltman of AccessHollywood.com, insisting that Antonella Barba is not going to be kicked off the show for the racy photos. “Of course not. She probably hasn’t done anything that any woman in this room hasn’t done,” Warwick said. “Her fault is that she trusted her friends, had some photographs taken… and the pictures came out and it’s not fair. It’s not right. I know obviously her parents are upset about it and it’s just not fair really. I know if it was me it would affect my performance. People love to create controversy over the show, they do. You know it doesn’t matter what they are doing as long as they are talking about ‘American Idol’, which suits us fine.”
‘American Idol’ Recap From ‘Good Day LA’

After the review, they played footage of a red carpet interview last night with the judges, where Paula Abdul deflected comment on the Antonella Barba picture scandal while the other judges said the images haven’t hurt her at all, and that it’s about the music. The segment, aired earlier this morning, has been removed from myfoxla.com.
