Michael Jackson’s ex-wife and mother of two of their children Debbie Rowe spoke with GMTV following the controversial Martin Bashir documentary on the King of Pop. “I resent anyone making allegations that Michael is not a proper parent,” she said. “He is a fabulous man and such a good friend and he’s always been there for me. I could do something for him and this is what I wanted to do.” Speaking of Jacko’s family, she said: “People think something has to be traditional. They have this notion of Beaver Cleaver. That wasn’t reality in the 50s and that’s not reality in the 21st century. We have a non-traditional family and if it makes people uncomfortable it’s a shame they are not more open.”
